Bio
Dangerósa formed in late 2008 when singer Avé Luke-Simpson and her songwriter and guitarist husband Will Simpson got together with former Solomon: as Pilot bassist Mark Goh and two members of post punk band Radio Fatale, Mr. Chang Chang on guitar and Gilberto Cázares on drums. From their varied backgrounds the band draws on myriad influences from 80's and 90's pop to ranchero to experimental noise rock, merging them all into a sound that is both alt.country and garage rock.
Since it's inception Dangerósa has kept busy playing shows with the likes of Chicago rock band Disappears, indiepop rockers Mumpsy, and North Carolina's shredding five piece Birds of Avalon. The first release from the band, the Dangerósa EP, comes in August 2009 with four original songs that capture the spirit of the first six months of rocking shows. This band definitely brings a new and unique sound, while staying true to the influences that shape their style. Keep an eye out for them in your favorite local venue soon!
